Bridges Connect Us, and Boundaries Keep Us Safe

“TOBET’s Bridges and Boundaries… provides Catholic formation and age-appropriate self-advocacy skills for children and youth that is deeply rooted in the dignity of the human person. I personally thanked Monica Ashour and her team for this fantastic program.”

— Bishop Doerfler, Marquette, Michigan

This dual-purpose program teaches Catholic faith formation alongside Safe Environment protocol. Bridges and Boundaries helps children and their parents understand what it means to be made in God’s image and likeness through Pope St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, while also learning to recognize violations against the dignity of the human person, and how to respond with the body as a boundary.

How does it work?

Who Is It For?

PreK-2nd Grade

Videos for the littles celebrate life while guiding children to tell parents about anything that seems strange.

3rd-5th Grade

Animations emphasize proper interactions among friends through stories that dramatize potential scenarios. Flashbacks hone in on “red flags” where the main character responds with the body as a boundary, which includes telling a trusted adult.

6th-8th Grade

Students learn about the body as a bridge through what it means to be made in God’s image, proper friendship, and the Eucharist. They also learn about the “ABC’s of the Body as a Boundary,” by walking through safe environment scenarios such as bullying, online violations, and reporting. As the age group most susceptible to grooming, this section also includes an additional video specifically covering that topic.

9th-12th Grade

Students learn about safe environment through three videos:

  • The Core Instruction/ Faith Formation video covers Theology of the Body concepts, the Eucharist, and safe environment protocol through real-life stories.
  • The Grooming Video demonstrates how to recognize and respond to grooming with the “ABC’s of the Body as a Boundary.”
  • The expert interview shares the perspective of a former Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security Officer with his advice to teens and parents.
